 Freedom Fund

Simply put, the "Freedom Fund" represents the resources the branch uses to support its mission to ensure the political, educational, social, economic equality of rights of all persons and to eliminate race-based discrimination. That includes the support of various community organizations who share in our mission as well as addressing issues that go against our mission.

One of the main purposes of the "Freedom Fund" is to support our youth who participate in our ACT-SO competition. We are firm believers that our youth are the single most important part of continuing the fight against injustice.

Many of you recognize the "Freedom Fund" as only a banquet held once a year, but it is much more that that. We absolutely enjoy highlighting our branch every October at the Freedom Fund Banquet, but your support of the organization is not limited to that single event. In the near future we will share with you how you can become a "Freedom Fund" sponsor!

Get ready for our 103rd Freedom Fund Banquet to be held Saturday October 27, 2018 at 5 pm at the Stranahan Great Hall - 4645 Heatherdowns Toledo, Ohio 43614. As always, we have an exciting program planned including great food and great entertainment. This year’s keynote speaker is “home grown”. Zuri Hall is an Emmy award winning TV personality currently  on nightly E! News. Her knack for leading candid conversations about pop culture have made her a go-to voice in the entertainment industry...but her strongest passion is encouraging others to chase their dreams, while she does the exact same; a passion that took her from her hometown of Toledo, Ohio to national TV by the age of 25!
